Mega Lucario Pokémon Champions Guide
A TierMixed attacker, priority pressure
Mega Lucario is a flexible mixed attacker with Adaptability, which makes STAB moves do 2x damage instead of 1.5x. Combined with strong physical and special offensive stats, you can build it for either side or both.

Naive lets Mega Lucario fire mixed coverage without dropping a key offensive stat. Close Combat is the physical STAB hammer, Aura Sphere never misses on the special side, Flash Cannon covers Fairies, and Bullet Punch is priority for finishing weakened threats.
Generate builds for Mega Lucario →Why it works
Adaptability multiplies STAB from 1.5x to 2x. That is a 33% damage increase on every Fighting and Steel move, which is the difference between a 2HKO and an OHKO on most A-tier targets. The mixed offensive split keeps Mega Lucario unpredictable to scout.
Common mistakes
- Investing fully in one offensive stat. The mixed set is what makes Mega Lucario hard to wall. A pure-physical or pure-special build is easier to counter.
- Forgetting the 70/88/70 bulk. Mega Lucario folds to almost any super-effective hit. Run Intimidate support and switch carefully.
- Using Bullet Punch as a primary attack. It is for revenge kills only. Close Combat or Aura Sphere are the damage moves.
Tips
- Pair Mega Lucario with Whimsicott Tailwind. The 112 Speed becomes 224 with Tailwind, outpacing almost every threat.
- Aura Sphere ignores accuracy checks, so it is the safer Fighting move when you cannot afford a Close Combat miss.
- Bullet Punch hits 1.5x against Fairies thanks to STAB plus Adaptability, which is the cleanest answer to opposing Whimsicott.
