Mega Hawlucha Pokémon Champions Guide
A TierPhysical sweeper, Tailwind abuser
Mega Hawlucha is a Champions-exclusive Mega Evolution that turns one of the format's best speed control Pokémon into a pure offensive monster. No Guard makes every move land at 100% accuracy, including Stone Edge, Focus Blast, and Hurricane.

Adamant maxes physical damage. Close Combat plus Acrobatics is the standard Hawlucha STAB combo, and Stone Edge with No Guard becomes a perfect-accuracy 100 BP move that handles Flying-type mirrors. Protect is mandatory to bait Fake Out and survive priority turns.
Generate builds for Mega Hawlucha →Why it works
No Guard removes the variance from Stone Edge, which is normally 80% accurate. That turns the move into the most reliable Rock-type spread answer in the format. 118 Speed under Tailwind hits 295, faster than every Choice Scarfer.
Common mistakes
- Mega Evolving Hawlucha on a turn you do not plan to attack. Base Hawlucha has Limber as the standard ability, and the Mega's No Guard does not activate until the Mega procs.
- Forgetting No Guard works for both sides. Opposing Stone Edge and Focus Blast also auto-hit, so think twice before staying in.
- Using Acrobatics with a held item. Acrobatics only doubles power when Hawlucha is item-less, and Hawluchite counts as held.
Tips
- Lead Mega Hawlucha behind Whimsicott Tailwind. The 295 Speed clean-up turn is one of the best win conditions in the format.
- Stone Edge with No Guard answers opposing Mega Pinsir and Talonflame mirrors that would otherwise wall Acrobatics.
- Save Mega evolution for the second turn if your opponent has Fake Out leads. Base Hawlucha's bulk is enough to survive one Fake Out.
