Why it works
Focus Sash plus Taunt shuts down every setup-based win condition in the format. Trick Room, Tailwind, Calm Mind, none of them resolve if Froslass is alive on turn one. Icy Wind permanently drops opposing Speed for the rest of the match, flipping the speed war.
Common mistakes
- Leading Froslass into a Fake Out user without backup. Focus Sash breaks on Fake Out, and the second hit ends the matchup.
- Using Blizzard as the primary attack. The 70% accuracy ruins matches. Icy Wind is the consistent move, Blizzard is the high-roll.
- Forgetting Cursed Body only triggers on contact. Special attackers ignore it entirely.
Tips
- Lead Froslass against any team that opens with Trick Room or Tailwind. Taunt is faster than every common setter at 110 Speed.
- Icy Wind plus Whimsicott Tailwind creates a 4-turn window where almost every threat in the format is outpaced.
